Entertainment & Lifestyle | What I've Been Loving Recently?

WHAT I'VE BEEN LOVING RECENTLY

➀ "Yes Please" by Amy Poehler. I've never been someone who's interested in autobiographies or memoir books, but since I read Not That Kind of Girl I decided to give this one a shot. I love everything that has to do with comedy, so to pick this book was a no brainer. I'm still a few chapters away from finishing it, but I like it so far. I recommend it if you are into sarcasm and not taking things too seriously. It is a very entertaining book even if you don't know much about Amy Poehler or a huge fan of SNL.

➁ Music need to be included on this list because it's part of my life. Also, I love discovering new music. Lately I've been putting this few songs on repeat. I find them very soothing and perfect as a background music while studying or just relaxing at the end of the day.

Quiet Nights - Catching Flies
Infinite Cities - The Bright Light Social Hour
Long Night - Guster
Awake - Tycho
Big Jet Plane - Angus & Julia Stone

➂ Waking up early. This one is huge for a night owl like me. But since January, studies and work has made me realize the importance of going to bed early and waking up very very (very) early. I noticed that I don't feel the same through the day if I don't have my usual morning rituals. For example, I need to have my daily intake of caffeine, a good breakfast and to take my time to get ready. And I can see a huge difference in my performance through the day comparing it when I used to wake up late and rush everything in the morning. That it's not good, I end up being tired and annoyed by noon. Waking up early has made me more productive, more alert, and overall happier. Of course, then Friday comes and I have a little happy dance because I can enjoy a good long sleep!

Hope you're having a lovely day!

Relax, It's Sunday!

I always need some time for myself whether that be on a Friday night or a Sunday morning. Start the day with some coffee, taking my time making the espresso and heating the milk. I enjoy those moments especially alone or with great company having a small talk. Then I have a break to read at least one chapter from a book. I'm really enjoying "How to be Parisian Wherever You Are" it is surprisingly funnier than expected. It's a fun read if you like dark humor. At the same time it has some more informative chapters, recipes which I would like to know if someone has tried them and of course, amazing photographs! Plus, I do love how many list there are in this book. I do like...no, I love lists! Especially with bullet points, thank you.

In the beauty department, it's rare for me to wear red nail polish but I've been loving this Essie one called "Fishnet Stockings". It looks really bright in the pictures, but if you apply two coats it is more like a deep red. Actually one of my 2015 resolutions is to wear more red. It's a color it has never grabbed my attention before since I always think it looks very daring and bright, the opossite of what I like - black and neutrals. So I'm going to try to add some red in my wardrobe and even wear red lips once in a while. I really like the look of red lips and it would be something different than my usuall which is MAC "Shy Girl".

The last thing on my list for today, study time. Kind of! The semester is starting soon and I'm going to be taking two language courses!! Hopefully I can manage that. Therefore I need to clear my mind first and review, review, review.

Hope you're having a nice Sunday!

But first, coffee.

How many cups of coffee can one take? This is what uni finals do to me! But on the other hand, I finally finished reading Not That Kind of Girl. Now I'm looking around what to read next. I'm thinking about The Maze Runner, How to be Parisian Wherever You Are or We Were Liars. I'm interested in those at the moment. Do you like reading? Recommendations are always welcome!

Happy Sunday!

Sunday | Time to Pamper

Happy Sunday! I'm now 'prepping myself' for the new week full of uni work. Finals are here, what a joy! It really is because that means summer is near and I'm really excited about that. But for today, I'm just going to enjoy a little relaxing time with some reading, look for inspiration, do a much needed deep cleansing for my face and take care of my chipped nails. And last but not least, put on my favorite perfume of the moment Chanel Chance Eau Fraiche. It was a birthday gift from my mommy and It smells so nice, a very spring/summer scent.  I don't usually wear perfume just to stay at home but once in a while is kind of fun. The only thing needed here is a frozen yogurt, I would like that very much.

I hope you're having a nice day!
Oh!! &
May the Fourth be with you! haha

Lazy Day

It's been a while since I took a day off to be lazy all day. But I'm finally on my spring break! I'm putting aside uni work for now and just enjoying some free time catching up on my fun reading books. Already started the third book of the series A Song of Ice and Fire - "A Storm of Swords" and I'm surprised how I'm loving it (just in case I'm not a huge fan of series, I prefer to read a story in one book) it just get better and more interesting. Oh, and it has a map! I love books with maps, it makes me really get into this world and with books as big as this is perfect to know where the characters are. And just writing this post makes me feel like a very boring person, everybody is at the beach or something and I'm here using my free time reading. That's just me, what makes me happy - give me a book, light a candle, some baked goodies & hot chocolate. Perfect! haha Oh well, now I'm off to go and continue over here... Have a happy & nice Wednesday!

Baking Red Velvet Cupcakes In My Room

Waking up early can have it's benefits and I like it even though is pretty difficult to leave the bed on a cold morning. But I've done so much - I studied for my exams for this week, finished (finally!) reading The Hobbit (and I loved it! It's now one of my favorites!), started reading Divergent by Veronica Roth (since the movie is coming out soon and I know my friend is going to make me watch it), made some arrangements in my room, for been in a hurry dropped one of my beloved Starbucks mugs to the floor (and you can see the results above), tried a Clinique nail polish (and I'm kind of impressed....) and now I'm here writing this...ta-da! Uff! I could say it was a pretty nice Sunday. Now I'm off to relax. Oh, and I'm burning a new candle which it's awesome and it really does smells as if I'm baking red velvet cupcakes in my room! I need to stop buying candles.

Hope you had a nice weekend!
& have a nice week! (don't let Monday ruin your week!)

So what I've been up to?

I thought it would be nice to update the blog before January ends, so here I am! I'm alive! haha First, I want to say a quick hello to some new readers. I've seen new people around here and that's nice to know people do actually read my blog! And I like meeting new people especially from the blog community, so it will be kind of rude if I don't say "hi" and thank you for passing by.

So what I've been up to? Nothing much, really. I started university last week so I've been packing my stuff, moving into my dorm-room, cleaning and making myself ready for the new semester. The classes are very interesting and for a little challenge I'm taking Japanese...yeah. I really hope I don't fail! Now changing the subject to books, already finished my first book of the year  (a few weeks ago really) "The Fault in Our Stars" and it was soo good! I really do recommended (if you haven't read it already), I read it like in two days.  Now I'm starting with "The Hobbit". I've always been a fan of Lord of the Rings movies but so silly of me for never reading the books. So that's what I plan to do this year and I'm starting with this one.

Yes, I know I'm still burning Winter theme candles because I'm not feeling the spring season...yet!
Have a lovely day!

Fall is coming

or is it "Winter is coming"? haha I can't get enough of Game of Thrones. Sorry!

Well, I think this post is very "self explanatory" but it's been awhile I don't do a 'wishlist post'. I'm kind of sad summer is over, but happy that my favorite season is coming. I love everything about fall, but that's not the point of this post...maybe in another one?

Things that are on the top of my list at the moment is a hat - I don't have many hats so I'm in need of one especially in burgundy which is my favorite color of the season. If you don't know I'm a wander-luster (is that a word?) so when I saw this watch I fell in love! It looks so cute and kind of vintage. I never get tired of buying clothes but I think I need to take a trip to Zara very soon. I love the details of the dress, it may look simple and boring (like me ha!) but I like it for a night out and if it gets chilly I can pair it with a nice leather jacket. And the color of the skirt it's just enough to make me buy it. And last in the list, because I'm a book worm, it's Alexa Chung's book called "IT". I admire her style so I'm excited to add this to my bookshelf and see if it inspires me in any way.

Just keep reading | Book Update

One of my goals for this year is to read more books since last year i was kind of lazy to keep up with my reading and ended up reading like one book in the summer and two more through the year. I really love the experience of reading books, fantasy and love stories that i wish came true in real life and just take a time to get away and relax. At this point i've read like 8 book...i'm not sure, i just lost count. But the reason of this post is Game of Thrones - omg! I just can't stop! If it wasn't for work, classes and life i would have read this like in two days. And is one of the reasons why i haven't post over here. Taking all my free time just reading this. Never thought i would like this story...really. I just wanted to see what was the hype and everyone going crazy about it. I tried watching the HBO series but it wasn't that interesting. How wrong i was! A lot of things are happening, lots of secrets, everything just keeps better and better in each chapter (which it's from different points of view/characters). I'm just a few chapters away to finish it and i need to find the second one very soon. If you like fantasy, kind of mysterious stories with lots of characters and don't mind a little action then you must pick this up. I don't know what more to say about it, i'm not good at making book reviews. Oh, and The Perks of being a Wallflower was really good too and saw the movie already. In short, the book is better...just saying. Maybe when i finish i would do a better book update and mention all the books i've read.

Thank you for ready & have a nice day!

A reader lives a thousand lives

Found here

To this day I haven't met someone as boring as me. No, really! You know what was on top of my list for Christmas presents? Books. I've been a bookworm as long as I remember. And I still have all my books from my childhood and receiving more this last month is creating a little problem. I love printed books but the bad part is that they are taking way too many space in my little room. I really want to give a chance to the Kindle, but e-books are not 'my thing'. Ugh, so difficult! A lot people like them so maybe I will think about it a little more. At the moment I have five books in my bedside table that I can't wait to read them all: The Perks of Being a Wallflower, A Game of Thrones, L.A. Candy Series, The Best of Me, Unsaid Things (McFly's autobiography - yes, I'm such a fan. haha). Right now I'm finishing reading "The Choice" by Nicholas Sparks. That means I have a box of tissues right next to the book.

Hopefully my next post will have more photos. My computer is broken but my camera isn't, so I don't have an excuse to not take photos. I'm not doing the 'take a photo everyday' project, I just want to experiment more since I can't take a photography class this semester. Kind of sad about it maybe next semester.

Thanks for reading! Have a lovely day!
