Chop, Chop!

A week ago I went to the hairdresser and had a few inches cut off my hair. I just couldn’t wait until the New Year, which was the original plan to have long hair through out these last months of the year and get it cut in January. Even thought I do love the messy bun look I was really getting tired of having every single day the same hairstyle. I just wasn’t feeling motivated or inspired to do something with it. So I just said let’s do the bob haircut (again)! I even want to go back and get it cut even shorter.

On other news, Thanksgiving is just in less than a week! And then finals week… Good luck to everyone who are taking their finals too, let’s do this together!

Hello November

This is a typical outfit of mine during the autumn season. Living in an island in the Caribbean lets me wear short dresses throughout the year. It’s kind of sad sometimes if you ask me since I love layering clothes, chunky scarves and warm sweaters. Thankfully, the weather recently has been perfect for light sweaters, such as this one.

Finally, the start of another month. I’m really excited to know the holidays are around the corner. Makes me want to go out Christmas shopping but I will wait a little bit longer. For now I need to concentrate more in my classes, oh so much work!

Happy Monday!

P.s. Sorry for the headless shots of me. I think is starting to be my style around here. In reality it’s just a bit difficult to take this photographs without anyone’s help.

Autumn's the Mellow Time

It's been a while since I posted an outfit post. I always look for comfort since what I do is walk around campus and try to stay warm at the library. Yesterday, as you can see, I went all black and grey. This is one of the reasons why I love fall season. Even thought I do love spring/summer dresses, bright colors and prints, I feel like my comfort zone is in wearing grays and black. Have I mention that almost all my wardrobe is like this? My favorite part is to add details to the outfit in this case I went with my animal print flats. Those flats are pretty loved, 4 years and still counting!

 Have a lovely day!

I don't want to be interesting. I want to be good.

Oh, look at me trying to get out of my comfort zone! This is typically how I look when I wake up early in the morning and have time to put myself together in time for class. Just something simple with pieces I can use with other outfits and colors that can match with anything. And of course, the most important thing being comfortable! Most of the time I wear sneakers because sometimes I actually do need to run to move around to get to my classes on time. A fishtail braid because I didn't know what more to do with my hair which is getting too long and messy. Lately I've been using a lot of white...I don't know if it's because of the weather and time changing or just because it's time to change a bit my usually all black/gray outfits.

Have a fun weekend!

Sunny Sunday

Since my birthday was on a Sunday, I decided to go out and celebrate with my family. What an amazing luck we had that it was very sunny and warm to go outside and take a walk...because that what we did all afternoon. We went to a few 'tourist' or very well known places of the city to take photographs and look around in the shops. At the end we ended up at the beach and thought "Why we didn't bring bathing suits?" For next time! But we refreshed with ice cream, water and bubble tea. First time trying the bubble tea and loved it! I tried a Honey Lemon Black Tea with boba and it was very nice, refreshing. And forgive my awkward photo 'self', tried to do an 'outfit of the day' but as you can see I failed... (not used to being in front of the camera!).

Hope you're enjoying your week!

February 24, 2013

all journeys eventually end in the same place, home.

On Saturday i took a little break from studying to have a little family time. First we went to pick up my dad at the airport and then went to eat at one of our favorite italian restaurant - Romano's Macaroni Grill, to celebrate dad's coming home. Pasta! Pasta! One of my favorite foods and if you're wondering the food was delicious and ended up eating almost all the cheesecake by myself (oops! no, really, i always share). My outfit was very simple nothing fancy but comfy and wore it with one of my favorite flats from Aldo. In other news (?), the weather over here is starting to get warmer and i've started to make a list for things for spring/summer. First thing on the list is to find the "perfect" swimsuit which is not very easy but maybe i will end up spending all my money in more shoes...as always!

The night Santa came to my house

So the moment I plan to post more frequently my internet goes dead....and that lasted for days maybe it was weeks. I don't know how I survived with a little bit of internet from my phone. But it's back! Hope you all had a lovely Christmas day. For Christmas Eve we did our usual little family dinner but instead of dressing very casual this year I wanted to try something new. Last week I went to Zara and saw the pants I raved about on sale! Obviously I had to get them! I styled them with a Calvin Klein shirt and some Coach shoes. It is very simple with little makeup and done. This is my first outfit post so I hope you excuse my awkward pose.
