Entertainment & Lifestyle | What I've Been Loving Recently?

WHAT I'VE BEEN LOVING RECENTLY

➀ "Yes Please" by Amy Poehler. I've never been someone who's interested in autobiographies or memoir books, but since I read Not That Kind of Girl I decided to give this one a shot. I love everything that has to do with comedy, so to pick this book was a no brainer. I'm still a few chapters away from finishing it, but I like it so far. I recommend it if you are into sarcasm and not taking things too seriously. It is a very entertaining book even if you don't know much about Amy Poehler or a huge fan of SNL.

➁ Music need to be included on this list because it's part of my life. Also, I love discovering new music. Lately I've been putting this few songs on repeat. I find them very soothing and perfect as a background music while studying or just relaxing at the end of the day.

Quiet Nights - Catching Flies
Infinite Cities - The Bright Light Social Hour
Long Night - Guster
Awake - Tycho
Big Jet Plane - Angus & Julia Stone

➂ Waking up early. This one is huge for a night owl like me. But since January, studies and work has made me realize the importance of going to bed early and waking up very very (very) early. I noticed that I don't feel the same through the day if I don't have my usual morning rituals. For example, I need to have my daily intake of caffeine, a good breakfast and to take my time to get ready. And I can see a huge difference in my performance through the day comparing it when I used to wake up late and rush everything in the morning. That it's not good, I end up being tired and annoyed by noon. Waking up early has made me more productive, more alert, and overall happier. Of course, then Friday comes and I have a little happy dance because I can enjoy a good long sleep!

Hope you're having a lovely day!

Is it Summer or Fall?

I know it’s still technically summer but with this crazy weather we are having it’s starting to feel like fall is around the corner. Because of this out of nowhere cold days with rainy skies, I’ve been dusting out my fall season clothes to get a little bit warm and cozy. So in this lovely Sunday morning, while drinking some coffee might I add, I decided to do a little post sharing a few links of things that I’m enjoying in the world of the Internet.  Hope you enjoy them as well.

Youtube: Essiebuttonvlogs // I’m not a fan of ‘vlog’ videos, but oh my how I love Estée (essiebutton) vlogs! They are just so entertaining and I’m really enjoying their most recent videos. Now my weekend mornings consist of waking up, making some coffee and siting down to watch her videos. Anyone out there like me? No?

Online Store: H&M Home // Can I get all my home decorations from here? I’m obsessed with the H&M home site. Thinking about making a little sneaky purchase, the only problem is what to choose first.

Blog: World of Wanderlust. // I discovered this blog very recently and I really like her positive view of the world. Makes me want to pack my suitcase now and have a little trip.

Music: AKMU // Thanks to my friend I discovered this new band/duo know as AKMU. Their songs are in Korean and I don’t understand one bit, but I enjoy the melodies. It’s a nice, good feeling music to listen to while I’m working.

Quotes: Here some positive quotes I like to keep me motivated - look at them here, here & here.

Have a nice week!

A little fun for the ears and the heart

This summer i opted more to listen to fun, upbeat music that  made me smile and dance around my house. I wanted to listen to something that could leave the stress of the day behind and remind myself to relax (something i should do more often). So here is what's on repeat...
  • Mirrors by Justin Timberlake - So this is my guilty pleasure. To be honest i only knew one song from JT (SexyBack? don't ask...), but maybe that was because i was very young when he started and his music wasn't my style when i was in my teens. But yeah, i've been loving some of his music now, very upbeat and happy feeling!
  • Night Visions by Imagine Dragons - Like literally, the entire album is amazing! They are my new obsession. My favorite at the moment is On Top of the World. I really enjoy great melodies, clear vocals and great lyrics to sing to.
  • Burn by Ellie Goulding - This is a great tune to listen to in a road trip with friends. At first i didn't like it that much but it slowly grew in me and now it's a favorite. Oh! and check the music video too!
  • Up in Arms by Observer Drift - I found their music recently and i'm loving every song. At the moment this one is my favorite, for some reason it makes me feel great everytime i listen.
  • Evergreen Love by Misty Miller - If you've seen the Burberry ad for their website then you've heard this song. When i saw their video the first thing i wanted to find was the song because it's so beautiful! Really glad i watched it.

What you're missing but you didn't know was there

I’m not an expert or even qualified as someone who can write a music review, plus this is not a music based blog – in conclusion this is not a review post. This is just something I want to put out here since I can’t get it out of my head! (in a good way, of course) I listen to music almost 24/7 – I wake up, have breakfast, study, relax and even sleep with music. I love it! Last weekend I picked up Two Door Cinema Club’s new album called “Beacon”. As a fan, I admit it is amazing! I’m very happy with the sound even thought the first one is still my favorite. Tracks I can’t get out of my head: Next Year, Handshake, Sun, Sleep Alone, The World is Watching & Pyramid. Like I said I’m not very good at describing the sound but if you like good melodies, pop/rock/indie kind of music and you haven’t heard one of their songs, than you must check them out.

I think that’s pretty much it. Oh, and did you notice I’m practicing my photography skills? Oh yeah, I’m working with my list of goals (Don't know what am I talking about? Then click here) and taking pictures as much as I can.

Have a nice weekend!
