Christmas 2014

Here is our Christmas Eve dinner - the amazing lasagna. Not pictured but believe me that it was huge for just six people. Lasagna for all week! I don't know how this little tradition started but I think is because it's something very different and making lasagna is very rare at home. Since we always have a more typical Christmas dish on the actual Christmas day we enjoy something different on the 24th. Oh and can't forget the apple pie for dessert!

Woke up early on Christmas day, we do still get very excited to see the presents under the tree and check our Christmas stockings for the candy. Even our dogs were excited with their new toys and snacks! We made our usual coffee and started opening the gifts. I feel very happy and blessed to spend Christmas day with my family because I never know what the future will bring. I love how my presents are very "me time", I think my family wants me to relax after having a very stressed semester. Can't wait to try everything!

It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year

Things are getting festive around here and I'm loving it! Everything looks and feels more magical with lights everywhere, fake snow, holiday music playing on the radio and Christmas scented candles around the house. All I need now is a cup of hot chocolate and start to write down all ingredients needed to start baking. After all for me winter time is baking season. For now I have my thoughts only in sugar cookies and apple pie. Only 18 days left! What?!

O star of wonder, star of night

I really do miss Christmas already! You may (or may not) have an idea of how much I love this season. So for that reason today is kind of sad being officially the last day for the holidays. But it's was a nice and much needed relaxing time. Loved Christmas day celebrating at home with my family, cooking yummy food, baking cookies with my sister, playing with my dogs with their new toys (which they love and run like crazy!). Now the sad part - taking down the christmas decorations. Oh, why! Everything looks so magical and it was like yesterday we were putting up the Christmas tree. 

And for everyone who celebrates today three kings day - Happy Three Kings' day! (Feliz Dia de los Reyes!)

It's finally finished! It took us a little bit longer than usual (it took two days decorating this baby). But the mess we did and the time it took was all worth it in the end and really fun. Now it feels very 'Christmas-y' around here. Plus the weather is getting a little bit chilly which I love but it's making it a bit difficult to wake up early in the morning (especially if it's Monday!). Now only 23 more sleeps!

Let the Countdown for Christmas begin!

Can't believe it's December already! This year flew by so fast, it feels like it was like a few weeks ago me saying "I can't wait for Christmas to come!" and now I'm like "Well only 25 days left." What?!?! Oh, but so excited for my favorite holiday. From the pictures you can see we started to decorate our Christmas tree. Not ready yet since we thought that this year we will make our own ornaments (well some of them) so it's taking a while to put everything together. Next thing to do is go grocery shopping to start making apple pies and sugar cookies. Yum! And most exciting only two weeks left for Christmas break.
