What I love most about fashion weeks are the street style. I find it very interesting looking at photos of people expressing themselves through their clothing. And of course thinking "how can they look so fabulous?" while I'm here in my pajamas. At the same time I can see what's on trend, what are people loving and what are people wearing at the other side of the world. It's very interesting looking around and realize how style changes at different locations around the world.

I'll be honest I don't follow that much fashion trends since I prefer to wear things that compliment my type of body and that is comfortable (this is very important). But once in while I might go for it, love a trend and try it! Who knows I might even end up loving it and adding it to my own personal style. From this photographs you can see how much I'm loving the hats. I think they compliment the outfits so well, like it would be the last touch to complete an amazing outfit. I've been eyeing a few on the web but still deciding if I should buy it or not. Also there are many long coats, capes, suits, splashes of colors, different shapes and textures. And this is just a glimpse... Can't wait to see more!

Hello November

This is a typical outfit of mine during the autumn season. Living in an island in the Caribbean lets me wear short dresses throughout the year. It’s kind of sad sometimes if you ask me since I love layering clothes, chunky scarves and warm sweaters. Thankfully, the weather recently has been perfect for light sweaters, such as this one.

Finally, the start of another month. I’m really excited to know the holidays are around the corner. Makes me want to go out Christmas shopping but I will wait a little bit longer. For now I need to concentrate more in my classes, oh so much work!

I don't want to be interesting. I want to be good.

Oh, look at me trying to get out of my comfort zone! This is typically how I look when I wake up early in the morning and have time to put myself together in time for class. Just something simple with pieces I can use with other outfits and colors that can match with anything. And of course, the most important thing being comfortable! Most of the time I wear sneakers because sometimes I actually do need to run to move around to get to my classes on time. A fishtail braid because I didn't know what more to do with my hair which is getting too long and messy. Lately I've been using a lot of white...I don't know if it's because of the weather and time changing or just because it's time to change a bit my usually all black/gray outfits.

Inspiring Spring Summer Looks

Even thought I enjoy fashion and don't always follow the "rules" in wearing whats "in season" (I just go along with things I feel comfortable and looks good on me), but I get really excited when seasons change because somehow that change translate too into how I dress. I always prefer fall/autumn clothing...you know sweaters, leggings, scarfs, beanies. As you can see in the pretty pictures above, I have just discovered a new designer called Betina Lou and I'm in love with the Spring Summer and Fall-Winter 2014 lookbooks. Everything looks so well put together, so simple and yet inspiring and interesting. I'm already a fan from what I've seen on their site. Now I just need to make a wish-list and hopefully soon will go out and buy some things I need (like dresses and skirts for the spring - but maybe that wont happen and I will end up buying more books, mugs and coffee haha).

Inspiration for Fall

Fall clothing is definitely my favorite kind of clothing. I just love wearing cozy sweaters, leggings, having an excuse to wear lots of black and burgundy and of course layering. So today on the first day of fall i was browsing the internet, looking for some inspiration and making a dream list (let's face it, a lot of this pieces are way out of my budget. But hey, a girl can dream!) Then I put the pieces all together & ta-da! I know there's lots of white and black. I just love the combination of both and how simple and elegant they can make any outfit look. But I will try some prints for sure even if it's not my "fort".

Fall is coming

or is it "Winter is coming"? haha I can't get enough of Game of Thrones. Sorry!

Well, I think this post is very "self explanatory" but it's been awhile I don't do a 'wishlist post'. I'm kind of sad summer is over, but happy that my favorite season is coming. I love everything about fall, but that's not the point of this post...maybe in another one? 

Things that are on the top of my list at the moment is a hat - I don't have many hats so I'm in need of one especially in burgundy which is my favorite color of the season. If you don't know I'm a wander-luster (is that a word?) so when I saw this watch I fell in love! It looks so cute and kind of vintage. I never get tired of buying clothes but I think I need to take a trip to Zara very soon. I love the details of the dress, it may look simple and boring (like me ha!) but I like it for a night out and if it gets chilly I can pair it with a nice leather jacket. And the color of the skirt it's just enough to make me buy it. And last in the list, because I'm a book worm, it's Alexa Chung's book called "IT". I admire her style so I'm excited to add this to my bookshelf and see if it inspires me in any way.

fashion week favorite's

Recently i've took the time to have a little look of what's been presented at some of the runways from this past few weeks from fashion week. From the few i've seen everything looks amazing! I love a lot of the prints used like floral skirts, stripes shirts, animal print hats - things that are fun to wear and can bring something interesting in a "plain" outfit. One of my favorite pieces was the see through skirt from Burberry, i wish i could have something similar to that, it looks very elegant even thought i think it will just look 'good' on runway...i don't know. And of course the colors black&white are everywhere and i really like it (but of course, this comes from a girl whose closet is almost entirely black). A part from the color, i really like the Carolina Herrera dresses, so elegant, simple and the way the fabric moves plus that hair style! Oh, that's another one - i saw lots of fun hairstyles and that is making me consider growing out my hair (at moment i have shoulder-length hair).

Daily Inspirations

As a photography 'geek' and fashion 'lover' I enjoy very much spending time reading magazines and take in all of the stunning photographs and amazing clothes. Sometimes I like to rip some pages that inspire me in any way - clothing, room decorations, tasty recipes - and paste them in a notebook i have for crazy stuff like that. I would like to have a wall or a board to put the photographs but i never finish them, so for me is easier to have a notebook where i can organize all the things i'm loving at the moment. At this point I have three of them full of collages divided by seasons and I like to look at them once in a while when my imagination needs a little "boost". The March issue of Teen Vogue arrived this week and by far i'm enjoying it. I love the photos from "On the Road" makes me want to look at it and the clothes for hours...no kidding! And admit I'm loving the black&white thing going on, with checkers prints and stripe pants. Some of the things can be very difficult to pull off on a daily basis, but deep down I know I wish I could put clothes like this everyday. I'm very excited for spring to come and to experiment a little bit more with clothes and colors.

While I send my computer to be fixed...

I will share with you some of my favorite things from 2012. I don't follow trends too much but these are a few things I enjoyed watching and wearing through the year 2012. 

The 'Peter Pan collar' is a trend that I love so much. It's very cute and goes well with dresses and shirts. I have a few dresses already with them but I've made a few collars myself so I can add them to shirts and I don't think I will stop wearing them very soon. Now the color burgundy...how to explain my obsession with this color? Love it in everything. The question is: can I still wear it in the spring? Oh, I really hope so! Another favorite is mint color nails. I've mention this one before when I bought the Sally Hansen one which I really like. When spring comes I know I will wear this almost everyday. If you are new to my blog (Hi!) I will tell you I have an obsession with lipsticks! My favorite one has to be the MAC Vegas Volt that I bought in the summer. It's a very strong coral but it's not to bright so I wore it like almost everyday. Love it! And the last two are sparkly shoes and cute hats. These two were perfect for the holidays and winter. I like wearing my sparkly shoes with almost everything which adds something fun for plain outfits. And that's the same with cute bubbly hats. You can never go wrong with a hat like that! (or maybe that's just me) 

I know my list goes on, but I think I covered my all time favorites or at least the ones I can come up at the moment. haha Which one did you like the best?

Urban Outfitters Wishlist

Just browsing through some clothing website and found these great pieces in the fall catalog section of Urban Outfitters. I’m planning to travel in the winter to a place colder of what I’m used to. So I’m looking for a good coat, but it’s so difficult to choose which style is the best. I admit I have a soft spot for trench coats, but I don’t know…any ideas? I like this coat of UO but I don’t know if their clothing quality is good. Oh well, I will decide later…besides the coat I love the dress. I have too much black in my closet at the moment, but is a color that is really easy to wear and always looks great. This one looks very elegant, it doesn't show too much skin and the lace details is my favorite thing about it. Then there are this boots which are a must for winter and for accessories I find the watch to be so cute! It’s called traveler watch…ha! Perfect!

Oh, and please if you can recommend any good coats for a good price leave it the comment section. I live in tropical weather so I have no idea what cold is. Yikes!

Celebrities Style | Pixie Lott

Oh, how did September went so fast? Didn’t see that coming. But the best thing is we are getting closer to my favorite holiday which is Christmas. Oh yes! And the funniest thing happened on Friday when I was at the shopping center and at one of the stores were playing Christmas songs. Haha! I loved it! It was the best way to finish the week with lots of work.

If you’re wondering why I haven’t post lately, it’s because I’m kind of busy. But I’m working on other posts that I’ve been working for a while like a step-by-step recipe because it seems like people loved it when I posted my red velvet cupcakes. So yes that’s in the making and other stuff too. But for now let’s just talk about Pixie Lott’s fashion sense.

I’m not really a fan and I don’t know much about her. But while browsing in the internet (that’s what I do when I’m procrastinating) I found a candid picture of her and fell in love with her outfit (is the second picture, by the way). So I went to Tumblr and looked for more pictures. I don’t know her music or her personality, but I love the way she dresses. It looks like she wears very daring pieces most of the time, things I will never wear like lots of print. But there are things that look good, so feminine and fun it just inspired me. So here I leave you with a collection of four of her most recent pictures and outfits I like very much. My favorites are the second and third. The third look makes me want to buy more oxford shoes. It feels like when I had years ago a ‘converse fever’ and because of that now I have them in different colors. I think that is happening again but with oxfords style shoes. Oh well…they are cute and I can’t stop myself from buying more. Help!

Fashion Week | Calvin Klein

It will be a dream come true if someday I could go and see a runway show in fashion week, but for now I love watching it from here my computer. I’ve seen so many good designs and trends that I know I will love and enjoy. I especially excited to see Calvin Klein’s collection since I’m a fan. Most of the time I love their designs and the spring 2013 collection was a no disappointment. In my opinion, designer Francisco Costa did a beautiful collection of designs. The pieces looked so feminine, kind of sensual and simple but with very delicate and nice details. Even when the colors were neutral – black and white – the looks call my attention and I love the neutral colors because you can concentrate more on the actual design of the garment. What’s my favorite look? Too hard to chose! But I think I will go for the dress in the first picture and third. I love the laces (I think they are laces, I don’t know) and the see-through material in the middle, it gives something interesting but at the same time doesn’t show too much.

Well there’re lots to choose from, but the ones I mentioned were my favorites. I’ve seen a little of what’s going on in London Fashion Week and I can’t wait to see the Burberry collection (another favorite!).

The Row Fall 2012 Favorites

I found an article in the September issue of Marie Claire featuring the Fall 2012 collection of Ashley Olsen and Mary-Kate Olsen brand, The Row. I adore everything they do for brand, but the reality is I can’t afford anything. Even if I can’t go and buy what I want (just like any other designers clothing), I like to look at their collections and maybe try to find look-a-like pieces for less. When I saw the Fall collection I was very happy it wasn’t an letdown, it is beautiful. And I fell in love with the accessories. The bags look so simple, beautiful colors and very stylish. I love bags that are simple with plain/neutral color, so I can add more to an outfit. I can see myself buying one of these, but for now in my dreams. haha. And the same goes to the sunglasses. I’m a fan! I like the style, forms and colors. I have used Ray-bans aviators for two years already, so I want to change and look for something more like these ones. My favorite is the clear one, it’s something very different and I’ve never had clear sunglasses, so it could be fun if I find ones like that. You can check their collection at their website. I will like to add, besides their accessories my other favorite pieces were the long dresses and skirts. Do you like?
